THE THIRD ORDINARY MEETING OF THE SECOND SESSION OF THE FOURTH ASSEMBLY OF THE GOMOA CENTRAL DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Gomoa Central, Hon. Hackman Aidoo, has presented the 2025 Sessional Address at the Third Ordinary Meeting of the Fourth Assembly, outlining the district’s performance and key priorities for the year ahead.

The DCE reported that the Assembly’s Internally Generated Funds fell short of target, despite efforts by revenue officers. He reaffirmed that tax payment is a legal obligation and condemned attacks on revenue staff, assuring full security and prosecution for offenders.

On infrastructure, the Assembly has awarded several DACF-funded projects, including the construction of a two-unit kindergarten block at Afransi, drilling of 10 mechanised boreholes across selected communities, and repairs of faulty boreholes district-wide to improve access to safe water.

Hon. Aidoo also highlighted an economic initiative led by the Member of Parliament to transform Gomoa Central into an agro-industrial hub, aimed at adding value to local produce and creating jobs. He further raised concerns about rising road safety incidents involving motorbike riders, calling for stricter regulation.

In agriculture, farmers were encouraged to register early for the Feed Ghana Programme ahead of the 2026 season. The DCE also announced plans to expand sanitation efforts to include tree planting and environmental protection. He concluded by urging collective action to improve education outcomes following poor 2025 BECE results and expressed optimism for development in 2026.
