The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Gomoa Central District Assembly, Hon. Hackman Kobina Aidoo on Saturday 13th December 2025 led a massive clean-up exercise at Gomoa Ekroful and Gomoa Benso communities as part of activities marking this month’s National Sanitation Day.
The exercise, which lasted for over four and half hours, started at 6: 30a.m and ended at 11:00a.m. It brought together Assembly Staff, Some Assembly Members, Unit Committee members, Traditional leaders of the various communities, some party faithful in the constituency and residents who joined forces to desilt drains, sweep streets, clear refuse and overgrowth of weeds in the communities.
Speaking to the media after the exercise, Hon. Hackman Kobina Aidoo expressed his deep appreciation to all participants for their active involvement and community spirit.
He commended the traditional leaders, Assembly staff, the community members and other stakeholders for supporting government’s ongoing effort to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
He reiterated that the exercise is not just today, it is about building the habit of keeping our environment clean every day.
Moreover, he urges all residents to make good use of the sanitation facilities provided in their communities and avoid indiscriminate dumping.
Hon. Hackman Koina Aidoo further appealed to residents to adopt proper waste management practices, stressing that environmental cleanliness is a shared responsibility that contributes to public health and community development.
The exercise was aimed at creating the necessary awareness and promoting daily hygiene habits among residents to improve and sustain sanitation and public health.
